Her novels have been translated into more than thirty languages. The novels in the series “To All the Boys” have been made into Netflix films that have all been executive produced by Jenny. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series was her next project and marked the turning point in her career as it went on to become a New York Times bestseller. The children’s novel is about a twelve-year-old named Annemarie Wicox and her life in junior high school. She was in college when she wrote “Shug” her very first novel. She went on to graduate from “The New School” with a Master in Fine Arts in 2006. After graduation she worked as a librarian before going back to school. She would later attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jenny was born to Korean parents in Richmond Virginia where she spent much of her childhood. Some of her other works include “To All the Boys Trilogy” and the “Burn for Burn Trilogy.” The former was adapted into a film that went by the same name, which was aired in 2018 and featured Noah Centineo and Lana Condor as the lead characters. I'm not good with reading series, because if I really loved the first book, the next ones are not as good as I expect.“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a series of young adult novels by Jenny Hann, who is also known for writing children’s fiction. The ending was very confusing and not wrapped up at all, because obviously you're supposed to read the next book in the series. I almost didn't read it for that sole reason. What didn't I like? That this novel is a trilogy. I loved the way Han alternated Belly's perspective from the present summer with memories of summers past. It was easy to read, with a plot that kept me wanting more.

And when Susannah, the boys' mother, admits that her cancer has returned and is spreading very aggressively, things really fall apart.Maybe my review of this book sounds shallow, all about boys and Belly finally knowing what it's like to be pretty. Obviously this makes things way more complicated. He's perfect to her.And then there's Jeremiah, Conrad's brother, who confesses his love for Belly. She thinks she's loved him since she was 10 years old. Except she's really in love with Conrad, one of the guys who lives in the beach house. She dates a neighbor, Cam, who really likes her. Hence the title, The Summer I Turned Pretty, written by Jenny Han. But this year, the summer she turns 16, is going to be different.
